The Calydonian Boar Hunt is a canvas by Peter Paul Rubens, dated from the beginning of the 17th century. Several versions of this composition have been painted by the master and his workshop, the original one thought to be the one at the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna (inv. 523). The version of the Colección de la duquesa de Santamarca in Madrid is almost identical to the one in Vienna in terms of composition, except the figure of the boar itself. It is known through photographs in the Spanish archives (IPCE, Archivo Moreno 04213_C) and the Frick Art Reference Library in New York.
The current location of the painting is unknown, as it doesn’t appear in the collection’s catalogue from 2017.
