This tapestry, attributed to Gerard Peemans, depicts an episode of the Hunt of the Calydonian Boar, when Meleager presents the head of the boar to Atalanta. It follows the episode of Atalanta and Meleager attacking the Calydonian Boar, also represented by Peemans on tapestry.
The present work, known through an old photograph from Spanish archives (IPCE Archivo Moreno 05840_C), is identified as being part of the Colección Duques de Lerma. Also attesting the composition of the tapestry is a 17th century engraving by French artist Bernard Picart.
